ENERGY SAVING UPGRADES & RETROFITS

Energy saving has become an integral part of new and upgraded heat treatment equipment.

VAS, working with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and customers, have designed custom built energy saving control systems, refurbished heat treatment furnaces and updated heat extraction units to ensure customers maximise their energy efficiency without affecting the performance or quality of production.

Our dedicated team of engineers discuss all energy saving options available with the customer when looking at upgrades and retrofits to ensure the calculations provided prior to installation accurately estimate savings in £, kWh and kg.CO².

ENERGY SAVING OPTIONS:

VAS offer two standard options for energy saving: standard energy saving and process intelligent energy saving.

Standard energy saving looks at out of cycle use of energy, vacuum and water pump usage and the start/stop process
A
Process intelligent energy saving includes everything within standard energy saving plus programmable energy saving options, monitoring of cycles, process and maintenance reports, remote online support and predictive cycle costing software.

ENERGY SAVING CASE STUDY:

Working with a customer, the VAS team of engineers delivered a saving of 57% per cycle, based on a five segment programme.

VAS engineers reviewed the saving energy through vacuum pump usage.

The saving for this customer was £5,020.03 over an annual period based on forecasts for the estimated cycles per year.  The calculation used the following costs: 16p per Kw and 24p cost per hour.
