Seen as a leading business not only in their specialist field but within the wider business community, VAS was started in 2000 by two ex-IPsen Abar engineers to offer services for vacuum and atmosphere furnaces. The company has progressed to provide the complete service package to the heat treatment industry, from bespoke new furnaces to spare parts.
VAS has expanded rapidly, not only employing service engineers but also a team of in-house industry experts to manage the spare parts, after market, sales department and finance department. This team has given VAS considerable power, supporting both vacuum and atmosphere furnaces while dealing with queries across the heat treatment industry.
LEADING BRANDS
Smethwick-based VAS has grown to employ more than 30 staff in a range of roles, covering engineering, technical and support. VAS works with leading clients including Mercedes, GE Power, Moog and Collins Aerospace.
Due to rapid expansion VAS moved four times in the first 15 years of trading. Now based at a 12,000 sq ft factory unit in West Bromwich, VAS have a complete in-house spares department, fabrication facility & material handling facility to deal with all enquires and projects.
Recognised in the sector as an engineering company run by engineers, VAS is expanding its products and services, adopting new technology such as hi-tech control systems and benefitting from innovation as young talent steps up.
Employing engineers from all aspects of the heat treatment industry, has given VAS in excess of 250 years’ combined experience to become more versatile and respond rapidly to customer needs.
STRONG EXPERTISE
Vacuum & Atmosphere Services Ltd operate a Quality Management System to consistently ensure their output meets high industry standards such as ISO 9001, Gas Safe & AMS 2750E.
Our team of UK-based, Gas Safe-registered service engineers are fully trained both electronically and mechanically to nationally recognised standards. This enables them to install, commission and service all types of heat treatment furnaces and associated equipment, whilst complying with all the latest health and safety regulations.
We are able to supply full risk assessments & method statements where required, along with the necessary supporting documentation, including working in confined space & working at heights.
